Position Purpose:

We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle DBA to join a team supporting the worlds leading person-to-person betting exchange.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Day to day support of the production and pre-production database environments.
Planning and implementing database upgrades.
Provide out of hours support on an on-call basis - this involves on site cover on Saturday

as part of a rota.

Performing upgrades and installations out of hours/weekends.
Assisting other DBA’s in the team to build and scale databases for growth, security, and resilience.

Experience & Qualifications

7 years Production Oracle DBA experience ( which must include Oracle 9i and 10g ).
5 years experience of high volume, on line, 24 * 7 * 365 Unix systems in a financial, telecoms, internet based trading or similar environment.
5 years experience of Enterprise Class Unix servers.

Able to cope within a highly pressurised, mission critical environment.
Able to take ownership of support issues and progress through to resolution.
Willing to be a key part of the database team, and ready to work with other teams including developers, networks and system admins.
Able to build communication with those teams.
Able to project manage work, and prioritise effectively.
Excellent communication skills and team ethos.
Self motivated, self starter.
